I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) when I was 41, though I knew I had the symptoms since a few years prior.
Parkinson’s Disease is mostly considered to be an old age ailment, and most work on PD is directed towards this end.
My name is Ashis Mishra
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) when I was 41, though I knew I had the symptoms since a few years prior. I am 54 today and taking it head-on.
13 years with PD, I realize, that only the one who goes through it understands what it is to live with the condition. And it is different for each person.
I thought it would be nice to write down my experiences — the good and the bad — that happen daily and my learning therefrom. Maybe this would be of some help to someone.
Please stay connected..
In the words of of Michael J Fox ‘happiness is directly proportional to acceptance and inversely proportional to expectations.
When I accepted the fact and told everyone, I shed so much a burden. I am so happy having told. I do not expect much or expect others to behave in a manner that would suit me.
I will write my experiences starting from the time I first had symptoms which later led to be diagnosed as PD till the current date, where I have done my DBS surgery in July 2022.
These are links writings which are published elsewhere on the public domain, which I consider are relevant and will infuse positivity in the reader.
These are links to articles/ writings available on the public domain, which deal with new ideas, treatment methods and new facets of YOPD.
