Let me talk of how it started with me

Sudden slowness, however hard I tried I could not walk fast.

Some kind of ‘pushing from behind’ as if I am about to fall frontwards face down.

Unsteady gait.

There was sever back and neck pain – I learned quite recently from Dr. Shivam that it was ‘stiffness’ which is a part of PD and I realized it to be correct as the neck pain would come, at each ‘end of dose wearing off’ of levodopa.

For this neck pain and slowness, which eventually was to be identified with PD, I went to several doctors in India for at least 3 years during 2007 to 2010, both no doctor directed his line of diagnosis towards PD. I was either given Vitamin D or B12.

Tremor in hands is said t be the predominant symptom of PD. However, around in YOPD around 30% of the people do not have hand tremor. I never had a tremor in hand and do not have till date.

The are several articles which agree to the fact that symptoms of PD are different for each individual.

In my case, when the effect of medicine (levodopa) wears off, I get a peculiar pain / tingling on my legs, from the foot to the lower part of the calf muscles. I thought it to be a part of the motor symptom and assumed it will get corrected after the DBS. But even after DBS surgery, the pain persists, but goes off with a dose of levodopa for some time.
